In an article reprinted from the fall 2004 issue of Wisconsin Academy Review, editor Joan Fischer interviews Jean Feraca, host of the Wisconsin Public Radio program "Here on Earth." Feraca was inspired to create her call-in program by all the negative coverage she saw and heard about other countries. She wanted to do something new and focus on positive developments around the world. "Here on Earth" attracts callers from across the globe and the show's creators have struck up some interesting international partnerships.

Wisconsin Academy Review is published quarterly by the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1870. The Wisconsin Academy celebrates the state's thought and culture.
