Description: The A.D. German Warehouse is one of five crown jewels of Wright's architectural gems located in Wisconsin listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The warehouse is one of two surviving examples of his most creative and productive period (1911-1924). The building is an impressive red brick monolithic structure topped by a magnificent "Mayan" concrete frieze. It employs a unique structural concept known as the "Burton spider-web system." An interior grid of massive concrete columns provides all structural support for floors and roof. The elimination of interior walls allows maximum freedom of interior space.
