Artist statement
I am a self-taught artist working primarily in watercolor, pencil, markers, gouache and sometimes touches of pastel. I've had a life-long love for the great children's book illustrators. It's no surprise that many of my paintings look like they may be illustrations for fairytales!
Biography
I came to Madison in the late '60s to attend the University of Wisconsin--studying everything except painting! I've considered myself a Madisonian ever since. In 2008, I will be taking early retirement from my campus job so I can work full-time on my painting. I live with my husband, Diccon, whose help and moral support in my work is beyond measure.
