		<title>Lawrence University Guest Recital:  John Sharp, principal cello, Chicago Symphony Orchestra</title>

<description>A graduate of Juillard School, cellist John Sharp was just 27 years old when he was appointed principal chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1986. 

Sharp has been a frequent featured performer nationally, including concert appearances at the Marlboro Music Festival and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Prior to joining the CSO, Sharp spent three years as principal cello with the Cincinnati Symphony and also performed as a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York String Orchestra.
