Corporation For Public BroadcastingMajor funding is provided through Wisconsin Public Television by the Future Fund of the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. Wisconsin Public Television believed there was a need for greater visibility and support for the cultural opportunities in Wisconsin. The idea to use new media to do it was pitched to the Cultural Coalition who enthusiastically embraced the project. The project was funded in January 2001.
National Endowment For The Arts
Wisconsin Public Television, on behalf of the Cultural Coalition, applied to the National Endowment for the Arts for additional support of the new collaborative technology project. The project captured their imaginations and they provided additional funding in September 2001.
University Of Wisconsin-Extension
The University Of Wisconsin-Extension through the Cross Divisional Program Innovation Fund was the first agency to provide funding for the project. They granted seed money in July 2000 so that the grant to CPB could be written and initial staff could be put into place.
