Time Traveler Road Rally
Navigate history on Saturday, Sept. 13, when Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters Historic Site (FWSQHS) holds its first-ever Time Traveler Road Rally.
At 10 a.m., rally participants will begin the challenge at Surgeons Quarters, located at 1824 State Highway 33 in Portage.
They will be tasked with finding 12 designated historic landmarks in and around Portage and taking a team photo at each one.
The first team to visit all sites and return to Surgeons Quarters will receive a prize at 1 p.m.
The rally will be held rain or shine.
The Surgeons Quarters log cabin is the only surviving building from Fort Winnebago. It overlooks the site where French-Canadian explorer Louis Joliet and Father Jacques Marquette left the Fox River to portage to the Wisconsin River in 1673.
