Cooperative Children's Book Center
The Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC) is a non-circulating children's and young adult literature research library for adults. As part of the UW-Madison School of Education, the CCBC collections include historical children's books, books by past and present Wisconsin authors and artists, books published by alternative press publishers since 1970 and a basic collection of recommended children's and young adult books. In addition, the CCBC's current collection is composed of review copies of nearly all of the trade books for children and young teenagers published within the previous eighteen months.
The CCBC Directory of Wisconsin Children's Book Creators is a listing of authors and illustrators living in Wisconsin who are willing to speak at schools and libraries and includes contact, program and fee information.
The Friends of the CCBC, Inc., provide occasional children's literature education opportunities for the general public as well as volunteer opportunities for members.
