Artist statement
I have been a professional artist for over 30 years and am known for my watercolors and my oil paintings.
My paintings are of things I love; my children and grandchildren, special moments in time, places I visit and quite a bit of rural life including many farm animals.
The focus for me this year is to create a fresh body of work. I have been experimenting with compositions, techniques, mediums and some very large canvases. Each piece is a learning experience and I love every minute of it.
I own and operate The Mill Art Center which is located within the 109 year old grain mill that my husband and I have been renovating ourselves. Within the center, I run The Academy of Fine Art, a gallery, a small shop and host The Holiday Sale each winter.
Biography
Molly Johnson has been a professional artist for over 30 years receiving her education from the American Academy of Art, Chicago and The Academy of Fine Art, Denmark Wisconsin. Molly has taught for colleges, high schools and elementary schools and has juried local, national and international art exhibitions. Her work has been included in national and international exhibitions and can be found in private collections worldwide.
