Artist statement
Christopher Poehlmann has been designing and manufacturing decorative light fixtures and furniture for his company CPLIGHTING for nearly two decades. Working mainly with sustainable materials (steel, aluminum, recycled plastic...), he has developed an international reputation in both the design and fine craft worlds. As a Trustee of the Furniture Society since 2003, Poehlmann has been in charge of their exhibition programing and has developed their past three international juried exhibitions. For the past 15 years, CPLIGHTING has debuted new designs at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City, appeared in books and magazines across the globe, and has had work installed in residential, commercial and hospitality interiors.
