Artist statement
As a representational artist the concepts of light, color and value are what structure my paintings. The brilliant use of light by Sargent, Sorolla and Hopper continually inspire me. It is light and how it moves across the picture plane that impels me to express how I feel about a subject. My work may be realistic or symbolic, but the very heart of my painting is always mood and how it impacts the viewer.
Biography
Education: Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and Accounting, Edgewood College.
Experience: I have been painting seriously for three years and continue to take workshops and classes. I belong to Wisconsin Regional Artists and Madison Art Guild, and have won several awards with WRAA, MAG and DAR.
