Artist statement
I focus my attention on the everyday object and the mundane placement of extraordinary subjects. I seldom take time to prop shots, since I fear their essence will flee before I am satisfied. Rather, I capture moments in time and objects often passed by, easily forgotten, and those ironically missed when they no longer exist. I use unexpected vantage points as away to explore the mundane and portray it as anything but ordinary.
Biography
Jacy Petersen holds a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and is currently employed as a Photo Studio Assistant at a retail company headquartered in Green Bay, Wis. Along with a passion for photography, she enjoys drawing and painting abstract compositions in a variety of mediums.
