Artist statement
I want God, I want poetry,
I want danger, I want freedom,
I want goodness, I want sin.
-Aldous Huxley
I use art as a self-exploratory tool that helps me understand and define the human experience. In my personal art I target complementary themes such as collective and individual identity, power and patriotism, and love and loss to explain my comprehension and attitude toward worldly and personal events. Throughout the past few years I have created an archive of 2-d and 3-d works targeting creative interpretations of the surrounding world and its influences. I include a diverse range of motifs in conjunction with depicting the human form that symbolize my unique take on subjects involving seemingly opposing ideas associated with human existence such as construction/destruction, freedom/oppression, life/death, order/chaos, reality/fiction.
