Artist statement
Meandering varied colored threads and beads stitched one by one to make an original "Fiber Fabrication". Each work starts with a blank canvas and it grows stitch by stitch into a composition of colors and textures. Each fabrication takes a year for it to become into it's own and make a statement. The art pieces are a visual feast for the eyes.
Biography
Ruth Rex has a BA and Ma in Art Education and Humanities from UW-Oshkosh. She is a retired Elementary Art Teacher at New London Public Schools. She has taken many fiber workshops around the US provided by other colleges. Her volunteering uses her talents in art and teaching.
