Artist statement
As an artist I have been painting since 1995 and enjoy using acrylics as a medium. Things that are natural are my favorite subjects. Being able to paint a moment in time , the idea of place and mood are facets I like to present in my works. I love the natural world in all it's indifference to boundries and limits. In my work I have found a growth and evolution in my skills. The rigidness when I began is moving in a much more free understanding of what I observe in the natural world. I try to put something beyond and more ethereal in my acrylic painting. And I hope others will enjoy the place and mood I try to present in my work.
Biography
As an artist I am basically self-taught. I have taken courses at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and have an associate degree in Commercial Art from Milwaukee Area Technical College. My work has been displayed in several galleries in Wisconsin and in now represented by the Hang Up Gallery in Neenah Wisconsin. I was a runner up in an online competition by Agora gallery in New York.
