Artist statement
As I place paint onto a canvas I am describing feelings, emotions, and sensations that I am not capable of describing with words. The intangible crosses over to the tangible. When the viewer looks at the paint medium, they see the individual colors and fragments in a composition.
An action happens, the paint and the patches of color display a dance, a dance of life describing everyday and lifelong happenings. Small decisions of life lead to actions, which build into large commitments and life long careers. As the integral parts in our life build upon each other, whether small or large, they ultimately describe our complete being.
As an artist, I look back at the choices I have made that changed my environment, which lead into a new job, new schedule, and activities. The intertwining and layering wither menial or significant made me into who I am today. My paintings explain this process in a visual way. They celebrate the prosperity and beautiful happenings of life and all that life has to offer.
