Artist statement
Wood is life itself. It is natural, renewable, recyclable, and a joy for your senses to work.
I don't purchase ancient and exotic woods, but often work with others rejected pieces.
The pieces wary wildly from traditional Intarsia style and ancient pottery to Quantum sculpturesque containers. Although sometimes looking like computer generated, they are designed and drawn by hand with little or no math. Some forms come from a matrix shape that can be found in everything from, molecules, human muscle tissue, and ancient dinosaurs, to snow flakes and whenever forces of the universe meet. Pieces may contain nature, science and science fiction as well as humor, and sometimes puzzles, messages and hidden meanings. Every piece is unique, and in rebellion against mass produced, computer designed and machined, industrial mentality of today, I will add flaws. Flaws and aberrations in nature give us the variety and beauty of the world.
