Artist statement
We live to paint and paint to live. Our love of nature is evident in our lush landscapes, and our strong faith is symbolized by the ever-present light that bathes our paintings in warmth. A path that appears in many of the oil paintings is a metaphor for the journey we all take down the path of life--life's mysteries that await us around the corner should be met with anticipation and joy.
Biography
Two artists with one vision, working side by side on the same canvas, just begins to describe the husband-and-wife painting team of Kevin D. Miles and Wendy Schaefer-Miles. Although their backgrounds are vastly different, their pursuits in art have run parallel.
With the support of their family and enthusiastic patrons, the artists have been able to establish their dream studio and gallery. Several of the buildings on Wendy's home farm have been converted to house the artists' endeavors, with more room for expansion.
