Artist statement
These images are part of an evolving body of work that explores hidden beauty in the natural world. Nature's colors are the
palette, and the ongoing challenge is to reveal the secrets in color, form and texture that each blossom can tell. The possibilities are as endless as creation itself. The duet that plays in the repetition of shape and color is beautifully matched in the human form. The contours that ebb and flow within each image can be a sensuous reflection of the joy the human form can give.
These images are captured on film and converted to files for continued exploration on my computer. I may work with an image
many times, revisiting it over a period of months to see what other secrets are waiting to be revealed. As in a symphony with many movements, each image may have several incarnations. I am always amazed at what I didn't "see" the first time.
