Artist statement
Nature has always been my refuge and my resource--the ever-changing landscape seen in different seasons and in changing light. Watercolor is my medium. I am a Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society, New York City; a Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters; a Life Member of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors and was the 2004 artist for the Governor's Awards in Support of the Arts in Wisconsin.
Biography
Weiss' paintings are in over 30 major public collections including the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution; National Museum of Women in the Arts; NASA (commissioned); the Elvehjem Museum of Art, Madison, Wis.; Milwaukee Art Museum; Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (Wis.) and others. My work has been exhibited in Japan, France, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Sweden and other countries. I am an Ambassador for Very Special Arts Wisconsin.
