Artist statement
I have been painting for ten years. Having no formal education, I have pursued my artwork by trial and error. I consider myself a traditional realist and paint landscapes, seascapes, old barns, covered bridges and flowers.
Currently, my passion is Great Lakes lighthouses. I often prime my canvas with a light tint of acrylic before I begin my oil painting. I paint from my own photographs as well as plein air. I paint for the love of painting and want others to feel that they have been there when they view my work.
