Artist statement
Thank you for your interest in my photography.
I stumbled into the world of photography several years ago when I purchased my first camera. Self-taught, I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture beautiful images. I appreciate the splendor that is unique to Wisconsin and the American Midwest. A right-brain person who has worked many years in a left-brain job, I use photography as an outlet to stoke my creative fires and share with others how I see the world through my eyes.
Biography
Raised on a farm outside of New Glarus, I spent many of my formative years in and around Madison and traveling through the rural parts of the Midwest. Most of the time I am on the road looking for compelling subjects. I am a contributing photographer to Madison Magazine, Wisconsin Trails and other Wisconsin publications. My images have also appeared in Popular Photography, Newsweek, Montana Magazine and Sports Illustrated. I currently live between Monticello and New Glarus, but more often than not I am elsewhere making photos. Currently I sell my artistic fine art prints at shows all over America, online at my web site and in galleries and shops in New Glarus, Paoli, Madison, Chicago and Bozeman, Montana.
