Artist statement
I am a fine art photographer who crafts images rich in color and with a dreamlike quality. Creative techniques like montage enable me to evoke emotion in the viewer. I create art as a way to engage my senses in the present moment and channel emotion into a lasting physical form.
Biography
Photography was a passionate hobby until 2002, when I earned a certificate from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana. I attended a workshop in New Brunswick with Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant in 2004 and fell in love with the images Gallant calls Dreamscapes. My photography has been published in the magazine Photolife. My work is informed by my love for nature, which I explored in earning a degree in Conservation Biology with a certificate in Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
