Artist statement
Color fascinates me. Always has. Putting paint on a blank canvas and watching the interrelationship of colors is exciting to me. Until one year ago, I was categorized as a "realist" painter, using mostly oils on canvas. A friend and I attended a mixed media workshop and a new world opened up! Now I am using mostly acrylics and am pushing color relationships as far as I can. I really like the vigor and animation of this new way of painting.
Biography
I have studied with Prof. Robert Grilley, Richard Lazzaro and others. I have attended various art workshops in the U.S. and Europe with David Leffel, Charles Sovek, Mary Todd Beam and others. I have been in three juried shows and have exhibited extensively in Wisconsin, and I have won several awards.
