Artist statement
My inspiration comes from the intricacies of personality and communication. I have based my work on taking a subject and making it visually extraordinary by introducing personality. Every piece I create has its own voice and unique character. My work presents a visual conversation with the viewer, much like people and animals in the way they communicate among themselves and with each other. Like meeting a stranger, the viewer is presented with the challenge of the first impression. Each piece contains characteristics that are obvious as well as the fine and subtle. It is the prerogative of the viewer to stay and discover the subtleties, or personality of the piece, or dismiss the work after the first impression.
Biography
Joelle Bhullar is a 2002 graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Since then she has exhibited work throughout the Fox Valley, Europe and India. In March of 2003, www.artisticoptions.com was formed to offer a variety of "artistic options" ranging from design and fine art to illustrations and printing services.
In 2007 Joelle began working on designs for the Einstein Project in Green Bay, Wis., and thoroughly enjoys supporting science education through her art. She has also begun contributing all profits from her art toward donations to help children locally and abroad.
