Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is a full-time, salaried employee of the Shell Lake Arts
Center and reports to the Executive Director. The Operations Manager serves as
the associate leader to the Executive Director, assisting in overseeing all areas of
operations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Professional Leadership and Management
The Operations Manager serves as the principal authority in the absence
of the Executive Director, supervising and leading projects as assigned or
needed. Provides direction, authority, and coaching to all SLAC
constituents, including but not limited to employees, parents, program
participants, audience members, faculty, and volunteers. Performs other
duties and responsibilities as needed and/or assigned by the Executive
Director.
? Works collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Office Manager,
Publicity and Marketing Manager and Student Experience Manager
to plan, schedule and communicate to all stakeholders events of
the Arts Center, Lodges, and Erika Quam Memorial Theatre.
? Works Collaboratively with the Finance Manager, Resource
Development Manager, Kitchen Manager and Executive Director to
forecast and plan budget on a yearly basis.
? Coordinates with Facility Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Office
Manager on all rental requests and contracts.
? Serve as a representative on the Program Committee
? Attend Facilities Committee as an ex-officio member.
? Leads the bi-monthly effort to produce a stakeholder newsletter.
2. Program Development
The Operations Manager is responsible for nurturing community, school,
and specialty programming intended to bring visibility to the organization
and events to the Shell Lake Arts Center on a year-round basis.
a. Community Engagement
? Recruit and contract suitable talent for the monthly Concerts
with Erika Series at the Quam Theatre and other Arts Center
concerts and events. Act as supervisor for all aspects of the
programs.
? Oversee the establishment of a community theatre program
within a growth framework. Function as producer of all
productions.
b. Student engagement
? Develop opportunities for student and community
engagement which melds short term experiences and with
learning and growth.
? Assist in the creation and implementation of a recruitment
plan that will lead to the successful recruitment of
participants to programs and camps operated at the Center.
c. Other Tasks
? Create and nurture a sustainable volunteer program to align
needs with abilities and talents
? Conduct regular follow-up with the Executive Director to
determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and
implementation strategies.
? Grow new sources for active (performers) and passive
(audience) program participants.
? Build networks to find other possible participants.
