Call for Artists: 6th Annual Chalk & Cheese Fest in Platteville
Platteville, WI – PATH (Platteville Arts Trails & History), a subcommittee of the Rountree Gallery, is excited to announce the 6th Annual Chalk & Cheese Fest on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at City Park in downtown Platteville. This vibrant community event invites artists of all ages and abilities to create stunning chalk art on the sidewalk, transforming the park into an open-air gallery.
The festival will feature 4-6 commissioned, professional chalk artists who will craft large-scale works of art. In addition to the professional displays, community members of all skill levels are encouraged to participate by creating their own chalk art. Community artist registration will be available on the day of the event. Visitors can also enjoy regional cheeses, live music, and watch the artwork come to life throughout the day. Watch PlattevillePATH on Facebook for updates.
PATH will provide professional artists with an honorarium of $300, a set of professional quality soft pastels, refreshments, and significant public visibility, including social media recognition and inclusion on the festival map.
Interested artists should apply by Sunday, March 30, 2025. Application and additional information available at www.rountreegallery.org/path-platteville-art-trails--history.html. Applications can be submitted via email to plattevillepath@gmail.com. Selected artists will be notified by April 28, 2025.
